Pure Harmony - our young people's choir
Pure Harmony is not currently operating.
This page will be updated when Pure Harmony restarts.
We have a Youth Choir for kids aged 7 to 16 and we meet weekly on Mondays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm during term time.
The music the young people sing is wide-ranging in style and level of difficulty. We sing fun songs and rounds, and songs from a range of styles - Pop, show tunes, gospel, spirituals, songs from different cultures - really anything children love to sing! We're simply aiming to make singing together enjoyable. We are developing singing in 2 and 3 parts, and we really just want to let kids enjoy singing for its own pleasure.
Children do not need to be able to read music to join Pure Harmony. We will use some printed music at times, but the leadership of the choir will allow non-music readers to participate in songs that can be learnt by ear, through fun activities and a supportive environment. Musicality will be developed as we use some printed music scores - children will pick it up really quickly!
Pure Harmony is available to sing at a variety of concerts and events throughout the year. If you would like to book Pure Harmony to sing at an event, please contact us!
The leader from September 2018, Lynsey Graham, is a primary school teacher, and has lots of experience leading school choirs. She is fully DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB) cleared, with many years experience working with young people.
There is no charge for attending Pure Harmony.
