A Poem For Voices In Harmony

A member of the audience at our Christmas Charity Concert at Holy Trinity Church, Old Hill on 16 December 2017 was moved to write the following poem about the concert. We are grateful to David Macklin for allowing us to publish his work.

Old Hill Parish Church

Old Hill Parish Church
is resplendent in its Christmas attire
and is blessed tonight
with brass band and melodious choir.

We enjoy an evening of music
and a feeling of warmth and love
for within the walls of Holy Trinity
we are given visions of heaven above.

The commercialism of the Christmas season
creates anguish and stress
but this annual gathering and its message
is something that we need, something that we should bless.

We are delighted by Pure Harmony,
in them the future lies,
they remind us of our childhood
when we could hit those highs.

We give thanks for the hours of practise
and the joy which their voices bring;
for we are certainly uplifted
when Voices In Harmony sing.
